[Tutorial] Spectrum +3 with 3.5 Drive & DSK Files to disk

Spectrum +3 with 3.5 Drive & Disk to disk tutorial

How to connect a 3.5 PC floppy disk to Spectrum +3 and how to prepare disks.

Sick of reading faulty tutorials about how to ... and reach the end with some questions i decide to explore the option of having a PC 3.5 Floppy Drive connected with the plus 3.

The main objective is to store and play games from a 3.5 floppy disk using a low density format and have 720k of free space, more than the usually 3inch disks used in spectrum +3.

This tutorial covers the test that i have made, so improvements can be made based on this.

HARDWARE

First things first, what you need:
- Spectrum +3;
- Some 3.5'' floppy disks;
- One Windows PC with a 3.5´´ floppy drive (in my case was windows 7 32bit version)
- A second 3.5'' floppy drive to connect to spectrum;
- a special IDE cable to connect the spectrum to the second 3.5'' disk drive;
- a tradicional USB cable to power on the second 3.5'' disk drive;

SOFTWARE
- Some dsk files - you can get some here http://spectrum3.esy.es/archivo.html
- CPCDiskXP v2.5.1 - Download here http://www.cpcmania.com/cpcdiskxp/cpcdiskxp.htm

and...that's it.
